When R&B Timbers in Harding, KZN, approached Dolphin Bay for some form of sponsorship for their team to take part in the two-day FedGroup Berg and Bush Mountain Bike Challenge on 19/20 October, they were expecting a small donation. Instead, Dolphin Bay decided to surprise all 12 team members with cycling shirts designed with both companies' logos. In addition, they had a shirt framed to commemorate the event.
“The team is made up of R&B Timbers staff and community members,” explains sales executive Mark Duckham. “They left it up to us to see what we could do for them. We arranged a social evening combined with a presentation ceremony at their premises in Harding on 25 September. Each cyclist received a shirt and we handed over the framed shirt as a reminder of the event. The gesture symbolises what Dolphin Bay is all about: we are here for the long term; we invest in our clients.”
“The R&B Timber Group and their cycling partners would like to extend a huge thank you to Mark Duckham and Bertus Coetzee for going the extra mile to sponsor all the riders with Dolphin Bay cycling shirts,” says the company's group buyer, Janice van Aswegen. “We believe we are going to stand out at the FedGroup Berg & Bush Mountain Bike Challenge. The excitement that has been generated and the effort that Dolphin Bay has gone to for this event has been fantastic; it's been a pleasure working with their staff.”
