Investing in our staff
Dolphin Bay has recently been through a process of formalising staff job descriptions, and promoting employees to positions with new responsibilities, in order to optimise the service we offer to you, our valued customers.
This builds on the decision we took several years ago to ensure that we always hire people who have right experience and personality to do an outstanding job and a passion for consistent excellence.“Doing something exceptional just once is not good enough at Dolphin Bay,” says Bertus. “We need consistently high performance from all our staff, as an excellent salesperson cannot perform well if he is not backed by the factory staff and supply team. We work as teams, and the whole team needs to perform.”Attitude is important, too and we are pleased that every member shares this view. Those who perform well and are shown to be trustworthy are upskilled and promoted, wherever possible. There are many examples of this within our organisation. The most recent case is that of Bertram Saayman, who was recently promoted to the position of assistant factor manager at the Sabie factory after months of intensive training and mentoring. He is now supporting Jarome Levendal, the Sabie Factory Manager and Technical Advisor, who was initially employed as a factory worker but very quickly proved his talent and commitment and trustworthniness.“It is important to notice and nurture these traits,” says Bertus. “A highly motivated team translates into a thriving company.”
